Our Housing Guidelines
All guests are expected to read, acknowledge and understand the following Housing Guidelines as part of their application process. Because our services are free of charge to all guests, these guidelines have been established to help protect you and minimize expenses for our organization.
All referrals MUST come from a Katy or Houston area (1) hospital or medical facility, (2) a physician or social worker, or (3) a community service or outreach organization. After the initial referral, the Guest may contact Cinco Charities® directly to request services which will be subject to confirmation with treatment facility. The Cinco Charities® Housing Program is reserved for patients and their families who must travel to the Katy or Houston area for treatment, regardless of whether services are considered inpatient or outpatient.
All program services depend on the availability of housing accommodations in one of Cinco Charities® designated preferred lodging facilities. All applications for services MUST be received no later than seven (7) days prior to housing need.
Cinco Charities® will provide housing based on its allowable budget and neither guarantees, nor promises that any or all services will be granted. Additionally, all personal charges, including but not limited to - cancellation fees, phone calls, room damages, and room service, parking fees, mini-bar, movies, entertainment or other amenities that have a fee - will be the Guest’s sole responsibility.
Cinco Charities® will notify the applicant - no later than 48 hours before the requested arrival date - whether or not the application has been approved and if lodging will be available.
Guests MUST notify Cinco Charities® of their arrival and departure dates and times at 281-220-2188. It is the responsibility of the Guest to notify the lodging facility of any late arrival to arrange for late check-in. Please note that check-in and check-out times vary by facility and the patient is responsible to arrive and depart on time. Cinco Charities® will not be responsible for any charges associated with a cancellation or a late check-out.
If there is a change in travel plans, it is the Guest’s responsibility to notify (1) Cinco Charities® at 281-220-2188 and (2) the reserved housing facility at least 48 hours prior to scheduled check-in to cancel the reservation. Failure to make notification may cause guest to forfeit the ability to receive future services, and may result in guest being responsible for payment of any guarantees to the lodging facility.
Cinco Charities® will NOT accept Guest’s arrangements made directly with the lodging provider. Each stay requires a NEW application and approval from Cinco Charities®. Please have a back-up plan. Due to the high volume of events in the area, there are times when housing will not be available or be extremely limited. Patients and families who fail to adhere to the Cinco Charities® Housing Guidelines will become ineligible for future housing assistance.
All guests will be expected to sign the Cinco Charities® Guest Services Acknowledgement and Lodging Invoice validating arrival and departure dates and times, and that the information provided will be factual and correct.
