The At Home in Katy Weblog

2010 State of Affairs Address

On behalf of the entire Board, allow me to express our sincere appreciation to all of our many loyal supporters; we see so many of your faces – time and time again – at our events. And the response from local businesses continues to be phenomenal when we ask for their support and sponsorship.

Without the support of both individuals and businesses in our community, we would be unable to continue providing temporary housing to so many in need – patients, faced with a life-threatening illness or injury and being treated in one of our local health care facilities, and their families.

We are actively seeking our “first home” and believe that – before the end of this year 2010 – we will have either acquired the land where we can begin to build that home away from home for those in need, or obtained the necessary acreage with a facility already in place. With every event, we come a little closer to making this dream a reality…

And none too soon! With two new major hospitals opening by year’s end and others adding patient services, we expect the need for our services to grow substantially in the quite near future. We continue to house our guests in area hotels, apartments or extended stay suites, dependent on their needs and the length of their stay.

We are seeking community-minded individuals and businesses to partner with us as we move forward in this next phase of our mission – building a “home of our own”.  We ask that you prayerfully consider adopting Cinco Charities® as your charity of choice. Check out our calendar of events and join us or, if you feel so led, contact us to find out how you can become more directly involved in working with us towards this worthy goal.

Blessings to all,
Ginger Hopper, Chairperson
