Kind Words from our Guests
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cinco Charities for providing a place to stay while my wife has been taking radiation treatments at MD Anderson Katy Radiation Center. There are several aspects of this kindness that was unexpected and emotionally healing. Each evening the 3 ladies would get together and discuss their daily adventures with the radiation machines and what effects they were experiencing. Comparing notes and discussing their differing procedures helped them through a tough time in their new life experiences. As a trained counselor with 25 years of experience I was delighted to see there openness with each other and the mental healing that was taking place. If these ladies were isolated in a single housing unit without easy access to each other there is little hope of such help. Many times throughout our stay I heard them discuss the fact that they did not have to worry about how to pay for housing. Again a healing of the mind that must accompany the healing of the body. This took place because of Cinco Charities. The ladies Pat, Becky, and Ginger were kind, considerate and gentle as they explained the rules of the road. This kind of human understanding comes at a time when the shock of their illness is making life almost overwhelming. Thank you ladies you are really appreciated and admired. The house is a great place. We will never forget it. Not to big and not to small. Clean, cool and in a nice little neighborhood close to the medical centers that the ladies use everyday. You don’t need to change a thing.

Thus THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR KINDNESS, WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU HAVE GIVEN US. YOUR HEART AND VALUED GIFTS OF A PLACE TO SLEEP AND RECOUP FROM EACH DAYS LABORS IS A GIFT OF LOVE.
God bless you abundantly! Thank you for your help in taking care of our housing arrangements while we were in Houston. It really helped in taking the pressure off so we could focus our time, energy and finances on the medical treatments. I hope to someday be able to give back to your wonderful charity. Thank you also for the use of the dishes and the cooking ware.

Everyone involved in providing this lovely house has gone above and beyond and turned this lovely house into a "home away from home." What a remarkable thing to do when you donate a house this lovely so people you don't even know can have comfort at a hard time in their lives and how wonderful it is to have such kind and beautiful angels to make sure you know you are a loved child of God. God Bless you all. I will never forget you!

What a great experience. So nice to have a "home" to stay in while I was/will be getting treatment for cancer. The house is very warm & inviting. Everything we need is here, did not have to overpack since there is a washer & dryer. The home's location is excellent; close to shopping, restaurants and of course the clinic where I am being treated. Pat is amazing & very helpful with directions and information. She made us feel very welcomed. I am going to encourage everyone I know to make a donation to Cinco Charities. Being in this home while here made things much more comfortable and relaxing. Have access to a charity such as this has freed up funds needed for my treatment. Having a yard to spend time in and a very comfortable bed to sleep in, kitchen to cook is much much better than a hotel room. Thank you to Cinco Charities and all who support you. God Bless!

I just thought I would e-mail you to say Thank you for everything! My husband and I arrived and returned safely from Houston and we did stay at the Candlewood Suite from 10/18/11 thru 10/21/11 without incident. Thanks for the accommodations and the good communication. You have no idea how much help it is when you can help others that have frequent visits to MD Anderson, it has created a financial burden in our household from all my doctor's appointments. But we do what we have to so that we can get by and I know there are so many others that go through the same thing. I am currently waiting on a call from my doctor because they found two tumors that are creating problems to my lower back and ankle. I may have to go back for a surgery, don't know yet. We sincerely thank you for your help and may God Bless You Always!

I learned about Cinco Charities through the Cancer Society help line. The MD Anderson social worker did not know about Cinco Charities. The housing guidelines are simple and to the point and it was processed in the time allowed by my Social Worker at MD.
My first call to Cinco Charities® was awesome. Since we have started this journey with my husbands Multiple Myeloma we have talked to many agency’s seeking direction and help available. (even going for a second opinion with MD Anderson). This of course has meant many phone calls. I can tell you, I can count on one hand the genuine attitude of really wanting to help me with my problem coming from the agency I called. Cinco Charities® was on that one hand! From the first call, volunteer Ginger had encouragement in her voice saying, let me help you. She has handled every call as if it were a family member needing help. Very professional and caring... We worked hard all our lives but live on Social Security now and there is no way we can keep up with the extra cost that will be in this walk. We are so grateful for places like Cinco Charities that can provide help, I will sing their praises and hope donations will be on the hearts of people for such as a time on this.

Everything was perfect, could not have been better. Cinco Charities® should be established all over the world, because I'm sure there are many, many, more people, like myself, that may need emergency assistance and Cinco Charities is the best, caring and dependable help you can find for looking in an urgent situation. Thank You!

I am grateful for all you did to help earlier in the week. What a blessing it is to have one less thing to think about when going for medical treatments. Please thank all on my behalf who had a part in my being there and without worry of financial obligation of the room. Keep up as you feel led at www.caringbridge.org/visit/brandonenglish and know we were blessed by our time with you.

I wanted to get back to you and let you know what it meant for us that Cinco Charities helped us. First, I am a single Mom with very limited income BECAUSE of my son's brain tumor, so getting help with a place to stay was, for me, definitely a difference of whether we would have been able to come or not.
But what I appreciate is the fact that you are willing to help families, even when their loved one is not going to a major medical facility. James has been treated at MANY major medical facilities, and we are thankful for all of them. But for him, and many brain tumor patients in particular, the options start running out. Before deciding to come to Houston to see Dr. Burzynski this last month, we went to Duke to see if they had anything even somewhat hopeful to offer James...and they didn't. We could have traveled to MD Anderson, but they would not have anything more to offer than Duke. But Dr. Burzynski in getting amazing results with brain tumors. His treatment is not always a "home run" for every patient, but it is certainly a viable option when other options are running out. But I can't tell you how many people I've met over the years that WANTED to go see Dr. Burzynski, but didn't have the funds. Giving these patients help, even if it's simply a place to stay, means the world to all of us.
So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you did for us!!

Don Stembridge and family thank you for providing a room for he and his sister while he was taking radiation. It saved a 20 mile round-trip which was expensive and tiring. We couldn't have done it without you! God bless people with Cinco Charities.

To my new "friends and support team" - How can I ever thank you all for your generosity? You have helped to ease the burden on me and my family more than you can ever know. People helping people - that is what gets us all through life - with God's help. From the bottom of my heart - thank you!
